Professor Elzbieta Oleksy, Founding Director of Women's Studies at the University of Lodz, Poland; Professor of Humanities and Dean of the Faculty of International and Political Studies. (since 2000). She chairs the University of Lodz Accreditation and Quality Assessment Committee. She has been a Co-ordinator and Principal Contractor in a number of EU projects (within the schemes of: PHARE, TEMPUS and 5th Framework Programme). She is an Expert of the European Commission for Women and Science in Central and Eastern Europe, representing Poland in the ENWISE group of experts for the DG Research of the EC.
